Jeff is President of Pro Sports Financial, Inc. and a registered representative of Alterna Capital. Jeff comes from a family of educators, attorneys and CPAs, where he is the youngest of three children. Jeff holds a bachelors degree in Finance from the University of Florida and is licensed in the areas of life insurance and annuities, and holds his Series 63, 6 and 7 licenses.
From 1997 to 2000, Jeff served as a registered representative for Northwestern Mutual Life and Robert W. Baird & Company, Inc. (Northwestern Mutual Life’s Investment Company). During this period, Jeff garnered awards as the leading 1st year agent, the leading 2nd year agent, and the leading 3rd year agent in the company. In 2000 Jeff joined Lincoln Financial Advisors signing a 5 year contract to run their sports division. He successfully signed more first round picks in this time than any other firm. He was a member of both the prestigious President’s Club as well as the Chairman’s Council. Jeff has been featured in many publications and has lectured before his peers both domestically and internationally.
Ed is Chief Operating Officer and Director of Planning of Pro Sports Financial. Prior to joining Pro Sports Financial, Ed was a former partner of Burr & Forman LLP, in charge of its tax and estate planning department for the Atlanta office. Ed has an expertise in state and federal income tax, estate planning, asset protection planning and business issues as they pertain to athletes and entertainers. In his legal practice, Ed represented professional athletes and entertainers, corporate executives, owners of closely held business interests and high net worth individuals with an emphasis on identifying and resolving complex estate planning and tax issues.
Ed graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1989, and went on to earn his LL.M. in taxation at the University of Florida. Ed is Past President of the North Atlanta Tax Council. Ed co-authored an article entitled “The Impact of Valuation Discounts on Estate and Income Tax Basis” in the June, 1997 issue of Estate Planning Magazine. Ed has also published a chapter entitled “Principles of Asset Protection Planning” in the 2001 edition of Financial Planning for Physicians and Healthcare Professionals, published by Harcourt Professional Publishing, an updated version of which has been republished in the 2003 edition.
Matt is a Vice President of Pro Sports Financial and a Registered Representative of Alterna Capital. In 1999, Matt graduated from the University of New Hampshire (UNH) with a B.S. in Sports Studies after playing four years of football and two years of baseball for UNH. In 2003, Matt was hired to run the Professional Sports Division of AllenKonrad Asset Management located in Boca Raton, Florida. Matt’s current responsibilities include generating and maintaining client relationships for Pro Sports Financial. He is also actively involved in providing financial services for his clients through Alterna Capital. Mr. Cassano has completed numerous securities qualification exams including the Series 6, 7 and 63 securities licenses in addition to his Health, Life and Annuities Insurance license.
Rod is a Vice President of Pro Sports Financial and a Registered Representative of Alterna Capital. Rod graduated from the University of Miami, with a BS in Finance. Rod’s current responsibilities include generating and maintaining client relationships for Pro Sports Financial. He is also actively involved in providing financial services for his clients through Alterna Capital. Rod has completed numerous securities qualification exams including the Series 6, 7 and 63 securities licenses in addition to his Health, Life and Annuities Insurance license.
Peggy's responsibilities are ensuring that the clients' financial affairs are under control. This includes bill paying, bookkeeping, expense accounts management, ensuring that clients have access to cash and credit. In addition to client management, Peggy is responsible for submitting life insurance applications, brokerage accounts applications, maintaining NASD and SEC record keeping. Peggy formally worked for Northwestern Mutual from 1989–2000 in the capacity of Manager of New Business Operations and Compliance. After leaving Northwestern she joined with Pro Sports Financial under Lincoln Financial Advisors. Peggy is a licensed insurance agent and registered representative. Peggy attended Broward Community College – majoring in Business Management.
Erick received his Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of Miami. In 2002, Erick joined Pro Sports Financial as the Assistant Director of Operations. In this capacity he has the responsibility of maintaining the day to day services related to the clients as well as assisting in the execution and/or resolution of any legal, real estate, or insurance matters involving the clients.
Crystal joined Pro Sports Financial in 2009 as Executive Assistant to Jeff Rubin and Concierge Manager. Her responsibilities include making flight arrangements, hotel arrangements and miscellaneous client services.
Mac has been with Pro Sports Financial since its inception. His expertise is getting the best flight, making hotel arrangements, transporting clients' cars from season to off season. Mac is also a licensed real estate agent and is knowledgeable in the real estate market. From real estate to washer and dryer, he is the know-all person to getting things done within the firm.
Pat joined Pro Sports Financial in 2003. In 1981, Pat graduated from Palm Beach Community College majoring in Business Admin. Pat responsibilities include client bill pay, Quicken Reports, and day to day client services.
